Terms for Businesses
Last updated 30 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-30.2
These terms apply to businesses that join proscope.co.za ("ProScope"), operated by PROSCOPE BUSINESS SOLUTIONS (PTY) LTD (registration number 2026/871710/07), 3 Rooikrans Street, Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, 6620, South Africa. You accept them when you apply to join. Our Deposits, Cancellations and Refunds Policy and Complaints and Disputes process also apply to you.
1. Joining and approval
- Joining ProScope is free.
- You must give accurate company details, registration documents and a valid Payfast merchant ID.
- We review each application against the details and documents you give us, and may approve or decline it. Approval means your application passed that review. It is not a guarantee of your work.
2. Leads and quotes
- You see job requests in the services and areas you cover. Up to four businesses can quote on each request.
- Your quote is the total price for the job described. Quote honestly and only for work you can deliver.
- Quote notes and messages pass through a filter that hides contact details until a booking is confirmed.
3. How customers pay
- When a customer accepts your quote, they pay a deposit of 30% of the job price through ProScope. You receive their contact details once Payfast confirms it.
- The customer pays the remaining 70% through ProScope before the work starts. We tell you when it is paid.
- Do not ask for or accept any payment from the customer directly for a job booked on ProScope.
- If the price or scope changes, the change must be agreed with the customer in writing in ProScope messages, and confirmed with us, before the work is done.
4. Commission and payouts
- ProScope's commission is 15% of the full agreed job price for a completed job, unless we have agreed a different rate with you in writing.
- When the work is finished, you and the customer each confirm it on the booking. The job is complete once you have both confirmed (or once we record it as complete after following up with both of you).
- When the job is complete, we issue you a commission invoice and you are paid the job price less the commission. We confirm the payout method and schedule with you before you take your first booking.
- If a dispute is open on a booking, we may hold its payout until the dispute is decided.
- Cancellation charges, refunds and payment-provider fees are recorded separately from commission.
- Each job page shows a worked example before you quote, and your Earnings page shows every completed job, its commission and its payout status.
5. Cancellations
- Customer cancels before the cutoff (48 hours before the job's start time): ProScope retains 30% of the deposit as a cancellation charge, and the rest of what the customer paid is refunded. No payout is due to you.
- Customer cancels after the cutoff: the deposit is not refunded to the customer. ProScope keeps 15% of the deposit and you are paid the other 85%. Any balance the customer paid is refunded to them.
- You cancel, cannot do the job, or do not arrive: we treat this as a no-show. The customer is refunded everything they paid for the job, and no payout is due to you. Tell us as early as you can.
- After work has started: the outcome is decided on the evidence under our Complaints and Disputes process.
The customer may then choose another quote they received. ProScope does not arrange a replacement.
6. Non-circumvention
You agree not to:
- ask for, share or use a customer's contact details to arrange a job outside ProScope before a booking is confirmed on ProScope;
- invite a customer you met through ProScope to book or pay you outside ProScope for the job they requested; or
- try to avoid the masking of contact details in messages or quotes.
This applies for 12 months from the date you first see a customer's request. If you breach this clause, we may suspend your account and charge the commission that would have been due on the job.
7. Conduct and your account
- Arrive as agreed and deliver the work you quoted for.
- Attempts to share contact details before a booking is confirmed are flagged and reviewed by our team.
- Cancelling confirmed bookings, not arriving, or serious misconduct may lead to a warning, a restriction or suspension of your account, after a review.
- When the work is finished, confirm it on the booking so the job can be completed and your payout can follow.
8. Disputes
You can report a problem with a booking, and you will be given a fair chance to respond to a problem reported by a customer. Please respond to our requests for information promptly. See our Complaints and Disputes process.
9. Liability
You are responsible for the work you do and for complying with all laws, licences and insurance requirements that apply to your trade. You indemnify ProScope against claims arising from your work.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms with notice by email. You may close your account at any time. Bookings already confirmed must still be honoured.
