Privacy Policy

PROSCOPE BUSINESS SOLUTIONS (PTY) LTD (registration number 2026/871710/07), 3 Rooikrans Street, Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, 6620, South Africa, is the responsible party for personal information processed through proscope.co.za. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. What we collect

• Customers: name, phone number, email address, the address for the job, job details and photos you upload, messages, reviews, payment, cancellation and refund records.
• Businesses: company and contact details, registration and VAT numbers, documents, Payfast merchant ID, areas covered, quotes, messages, invoices and payout records.
• Problems and disputes: what you tell us about the problem and any evidence you send, such as messages, photos or documents.
• Technical: IP address, device and browser information, and how you arrived at our site (for example, the advert you clicked).

We do not receive or store your card details. Payments and refunds are processed by Payfast.

2. Why we use it

• To send your request to suitable businesses and show you their quotes.
• To share your contact details with the business you book, after your deposit is confirmed.
• To process payments, cancellations, refunds, invoices and payouts.
• To review and decide problems and disputes.
• To keep the platform safe, including checking messages for shared contact details.
• To send you emails about your request, booking or account.
• To understand which adverts and pages work, using summarised data.

3. Who we share it with

• The business you book: your name, phone, email and job address, only after your deposit is confirmed, and only while that booking is not cancelled.
• The other side of a dispute: the information needed for them to respond, such as what happened and relevant messages or photos.
• Service providers: Payfast (payments and refunds), Supabase (hosting and database), Vercel (website hosting) and Resend (email). Some of these store data outside South Africa, with the safeguards POPIA requires.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How long we keep it

We keep booking, payment, refund, dispute and message records for at least five years for tax, legal and dispute purposes. We delete or anonymise other information when it is no longer needed.

5. Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to processing, or withdraw consent, by emailing support@proscope.co.za. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).

6. Security

We protect personal information with access controls, encryption in transit and database rules that keep contact details hidden from businesses until a booking is paid. Only team members who need dispute evidence to decide a case can see it.
