Terms and Conditions
Last updated 30 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-30.2
These terms apply when you use proscope.co.za ("ProScope") to request quotes and book services. ProScope is operated by PROSCOPE BUSINESS SOLUTIONS (PTY) LTD (registration number 2026/871710/07), 3 Rooikrans Street, Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, 6620, South Africa. By using ProScope you agree to these terms.
1. What ProScope does
ProScope is an online marketplace. We connect customers with independent service businesses that we have approved to quote on our platform. The service itself is delivered by the business you choose, not by ProScope. The business is responsible for the quality, safety and timing of the work it agrees to do.
ProScope runs the platform: requests, quotes, messages, payments through Payfast, and the process for cancellations, refunds and disputes described in these terms.
2. Requesting quotes
- You must give accurate information about the job. Quotes are based on what you tell us.
- We confirm your email address with a one-time code.
- Up to four approved businesses can quote on each request. We do not guarantee that you will receive a quote.
- A request stays open for quotes for 14 days.
3. Your contact details
Businesses see a summary of your job but not your name, phone number, email address or exact address. We share these only with the business you book, and only after your deposit payment is confirmed. If that booking is cancelled, the business no longer sees them on ProScope. See our Privacy Policy.
4. Messages
Messages are sent through ProScope and kept for quality, safety and dispute purposes. Before a booking is confirmed, contact details and links in messages are hidden. Please do not try to arrange or pay for the job outside ProScope.
5. Booking and payment
- Before you pay, we show you the total price quoted by the business, the deposit due now, the balance, when the balance is due and the cancellation cutoff for your booking.
- You pay the deposit through ProScope, using Payfast, when you accept a quote. Your booking is confirmed only once Payfast confirms the payment.
- You pay the balance through ProScope after your booking is confirmed and before the work starts.
- Do not pay the business directly for a job you booked on ProScope.
- The total price is the business's quote. Any change to the agreed price or scope must be agreed by you and the business in writing in ProScope messages before the work is done.
- When the work is done, you and the business each confirm it on the booking. The job is complete once you have both confirmed.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Our Deposits, Cancellations and Refunds Policy forms part of these terms. It explains the cancellation cutoff (counted back from the job's start time you give us), cancellation charges, what happens if the business cancels or does not arrive, and how refunds are processed, including that any Payfast refund fee is deducted from a refund.
7. Reviews
After you confirm a job is done, you can leave one review. Reviews must be honest and about your own experience. We may remove reviews that are abusive, false or unrelated to the job.
8. Problems and disputes
If something goes wrong, our Complaints and Disputes process has three levels: sorting it out directly with the business in ProScope messages, asking ProScope to help, and outside help where needed. Opening a dispute does not by itself trigger a refund. Our decisions do not take away any rights you have under the law.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, ProScope is not liable for loss or damage caused by a business's work, delay or failure to perform. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or any other law that cannot be excluded.
10. Changes
We may update these terms and our policies. The version and date at the top show which version applies. The version you accepted when you paid your deposit applies to that booking.
